This project functions as a poetic exercise to rekindle possible associations between the sky and the earth. The embedded objects work, in some cases, as commentary on existing mythologies, and in others, as escape routes or starting points for new possible imaginations.

Este proyecto funciona como un ejercicio poético de volver a poner en movimiento asociaciones posibles entre el cielo y la tierra. Los objetos incrustados funcionan en algunos casos como comentarios sobre las mitologías existentes, en otros como líneas de fuga o puntos de partida para nuevas imaginaciones.

NICOLÁS BACAL. Buenos Aires, 1985. He lives and works in Buenos Aires
He is a musician and visual artist, holding a degree in electroacoustic composition from the National University of Quilmes (Argentina). In 2009, he was a fellow at the Centro de investigaciones Artisticas (CIA) –directed by artist Roberto Jacoby; in 2012 at the Artists’ Program of Torcuato Di Tella University (Argentina), and in 2014 at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in the United States.
He has been working as a visual artist since 2007. He has held individual exhibitions in Buenos Aires (Alberto Sendros Gallery – 2008, 2010, 2012, 2022, and 2017 at Ignacio Liprandi Gallery), Paris (JTM Gallery – 2009 and Gb agency Gallery in 2013), and Sao Paulo (Vermelho Gallery in 2013, 2018, and 2023). In 2011, he participated in the 12th Istanbul Biennial, and in 2013, he was part of the 9th Mercosur Biennial.
As a musician, he was involved with lile, with whom he released an album in 2007 under the German label Monika Enterprise. In 2023 he released an album with Las Preguntas.
He also serves as a professor at the National University of Tres de Febrero.

Músico y artista visual. Es licenciado en composición electroacústica de la Universidad Nacional de Quilmes. Realizó diferentes clínicas de obra y programas de formación en artes visuales en la Fundación Telefónica y el Centro Cultural Rojas. En 2009 fue becario del Centro de investigaciones Artísticas, en el 2012 del Programa de artistas de la Universidad Torcuato Di Tella y en 2014 de Skowhegan school of painting and sculpture en Estados Unidos.
Trabaja como artista plástico desde el 2007. Individualmente expuso en Buenos Aires (galería Alberto Sendros – 2008, 2010, 2012, 2022, 2025 y 2017 en la galería Ignacio Liprandi), París (galería JTM – 2009 y galería Gb agency en 2013) y en São Paulo (galería Vermelho 2013, 2018, 2023). En 2011 participó de la 12va Bienal de Estambul, en 2013 de la 9na Bienal del Mercosur y en 2023 en la Bienal Sur.
Como músico, participó de lile con quienes editó un disco en 2007 bajo el sello alemán Monika Enterprise. En 2023 trabajó en el álbum de Las Preguntas. En 2024 editó Nocturnos junto a Ismael Pinkler bajo el sello mexicano Static Discos.
Es docente de la Universidad Nacional 3 de Febrero.
